Scenic Woods Golf Club in Hannon, Ontario is player friendly golfing experience, with mostly level playing surfaces and sparse sand bunkering. The fairways are flanked by trees
and or tall native grasses, with several elevated tees on the front nine. There are just 16 sand bunkers on the course, but water comes into play on 12 holes. These hazards are
mostly in the form of creeks crossing on the fairways or in front of the relatively flat green complexes. Be sure to look for them on the scorecard or on the yardage guide booklet (
available for a nominal fee) - which features a design of the layout.
There are 3 sets of tee areas that play to distances and slopes measuring 6451 yards/131 slope, 6005 yards/129 slope, and 5002 yards/111 slope for men and 118 for ladies.
150 yard stakes and 100, 150 and 200 yard markers are posted on the fairways and cart path of all par fours and fives. There are partial cart paths so golfers can usually drive
directly to their ball.
The clubhouse features a pro shop, snack area with sandwiches and beverages, plus outing/event pavilion tent. Practice facilities include a driving range and a putting/chipping
green. All carts have canvas covers for protection during inclement weather.
